PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Wyndham Clark has made five starts on the PGA Tour in 2026. He has used four different drivers in that span.
And at the 2026 Players Championship, he is making another change with the big stick. Clark, the 2023 U.S. Open champion and three-time PGA Tour winner, is an equipment free agent, and he’s using that to his advantage. Earlier this season, he played with the Ping G430 LST and Ping G440 K. Then, he tried out a Titleist TSR. And at the Genesis Invitational, he switched to a TaylorMade Qi4D driver.
The QiD4 is staying in the bag at TPC Sawgrass, where Clark finished runner-up in 2024, but he inserted a Titan shaft this week, making it another unique driver combination in a year involving plenty of change.
On Tuesday, Clark sat down with Kay Adams, host of the Up & Adams show on FanDuel, and made a hilarious analogy comparing his drivers to girlfriends.
“Sometimes it’s nice to have a week-long girlfriend,” Clark said while laughing. “I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding.”
“Wyndham?! Are you kidding?” Adams responds.
“I am kidding. You know, I haven’t found the right one. And when you find the right one, you lock it down, OK?” Clark continued. “We’re still talking about drivers, right?”
“It’s your fourth swap of the season?” Adams responded. “Settle down, Wyndham.”
“I’m a free agent, and you know, sometimes it’s nice to spice things up,” Clark replies. “As you said, the honeymoon stage can be really nice.”
Perhaps this driver is the one that can lead Clark back to the winner’s circle for the first time since the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He’s made every cut this season, but finding the right driver has proven troublesome.
Maybe this is the week he finally says, “I do.”
