Cabral currently works as an architect for Taller Frida Escobedo, an architecture and planning studio with locations in Mexico City and N.Y.C. She is also the co-founder of BATLLE + sig, a design company she runs alongside her Yale classmate Signe Ferguson.
“It was 2020, in the midst of the COVID pandemic,” Cabral told Speciwomen in January 2025. “Signe invited me over for dinner. I started cooking and reading books with her, and we became close friends. Because the school was closed down, we made our studios within our homes.”
She went on to share that “almost every project of ours explores irony in some way — using an everyday material that isn’t normally appreciated, questioning sacred ritual versus corporate capital.”
She loves to travel

The N.Y.C.-based architect has traveled all over the world. She studied abroad in France for a semester during her time at SCAD, per her Instagram. She has since explored Austria, the Czech Republic, Mexico, Italy, Greenland and, most recently, Tanzania.
“We have this saying at [BATLLE + sig], ‘si a todo’– ‘yes to everything,’ ” Cabral told Speciwomen in January 2025. “Let’s bring it in, let’s explore, let’s research.”
“I think that that’s what makes us get closer every time, the curiosity and excitement about the unknown. I think our goal is a bridge between the DR, New York and the rest of the world,” she added.

Prior to making their relationship red-carpet official, Hernández and the architect made two public appearances in May 2025 — one at a Met Gala afterparty and another at the N.Y.C. premiere of The Phoenician Scheme.
