Officials say authentic invitations will come directly from the White House press team.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The White House will hold an event at the Port of Corpus Christi on Friday, February 27.

In a post on social media, Port officials are warning the public about counterfeit tickets being sold electronically for the event. saying, these tickets are not legitimate.

Officials say authentic invitations will come directly from the White House press team and will include specific instructions for attendance.

All invited guests will be checked in by Security upon arrival.

Area law enforcement agencies will also be onsite to ensure the safety of Port employees and surrounding communities.

The Port of Corpus Christi says maintaining the safety and security of its workforce and the region remains its top priority.

President Donald Trump is expected to visit Corpus Christi sometime this week, according to a report from The Texas Tribune.

Nueces County Judge Connie Scott talked to 3NEWS on Monday about the preparations that go into hosting a visit from a sitting president, saying it presents an opportunity to highlight key priorities across the Coastal Bend.

“I think anytime you have someone of that level of importance come to our community, no matter which party you’re from, that’s the President of the United States,” Scott said. “We have an opportunity to highlight those things when he’s here and to show him the importance of this community.”

Scott said a Presidential visit could draw attention to several local assets, including the Port of Corpus Christi, water infrastructure projects and defense-related facilities such as the Corpus Christi Army Depot.

This will not be Trump’s first visit to Corpus Christi. In October 2022, he held a rally at the Richard M. Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown. He also visited the Coastal Bend in 2017 following Hurricane Harvey.
