Indictment process underway

TMZ has reported that the grand jury that has been hearing the testimony in the Celeste Rivas case is expected to operate as the indictment panel instead of the investigative one that was reportedly assigned earlier this month.

Prosecutors are pushing for an indictment against D4vd. Grand juries rarely side with the person charged and solely hear witnesses as to a charge of crime by the State. Hence, D4vd is not allowed to present a defense.

Robert Morgenroth, the day-to-day manager of D4VD, spent days testifying earlier this month. In the courtroom corridor, Morgenroth told his lawyer that Beth Silverman, the prosecutor, was “very pushy” about why he didn’t call the police, according to a TMZ reporter. He claimed that in response, he stated that his duty was to ensure that D4VD’s tour continued and that it wasn’t his responsibility.

The report says that the grand jury may hear testimony in February.

The investigation is still underway, and the Los Angeles Police Department has not made any charges public.

Body found in vehicle registered to D4vd

On September 8, authorities discovered a heavily decomposed human remains in the front trunk of a Tesla that had been impounded in Hollywood Hills, which was registered to D4vd.

The subsequent forensic work identified the remains as those of Celeste Rivas, who was reported missing since April 2024.

Initial police statements confirmed the discovery but offered limited details. The body was partially dismembered but not decapitated, an LAPD captain subsequently informed KABC-TV. The Los Angeles Police Department later initiated a court order to place a security hold on Celeste Rivas’s case.
