FORECAST

WAVE Overnight Weather – A light wintry mix possible on Wednesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Temperatures will have a steady drop this evening into the upper teens to lower 20s, then slowly rise into the overnight hours through daybreak. Clouds will also increase with a dry forecast expected for the overnight.

A challenging setup for the morning hours as a mix of snow and/or freezing rain could briefly take place mid to late morning Wednesday. If this develops, watch for slick spots, especially on bridges & overpasses.

Temperatures rise above freezing by midday. Current trends show precipitation moving out by tomorrow night. Mostly clear to partly cloudy skies are expected as lows fall into the 20s.

A mix of sun and clouds on Thursday. Highs in the 30s and 40s.

Very cold temperatures return on Friday with a dry forecast. That cold sets the stage for a winter storm to cause big problems in the region over the weekend into early next week. It is still too early for specifics on amounts/types but the risk remains…so stay close to the forecast as we get closer!

A more potent storm system is expected this weekend. It is still too early for specific timing and impact details. Stay tuned for updates.
