Those responsible for assembling the December and early January Big Ten schedule haven’t been kind to the University of Wisconsin men’s basketball team.
The Badgers‘ last two Big Ten games have been losses – at now-No. 10 Nebraska and to No. 5 Purdue. And before its visits No. 2 Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 10, UW finishes a four-game homestand Tuesday, Jan. 6, hosting UCLA in Madison for the first time since 1962.
Like Wisconsin, the Bruins (10-4 overall, 2-1 in the Big Ten) have struggled against the top teams on their schedule. That includes a 74-61 defeat at No. 19 Iowa on Saturday, Jan. 3 in which the Hawkeyes shot 56% in the first half and made 22 of 26 free throws.
