Watch: IU WR Charlie Becker’s family ‘extremely excited’ for Rose Bowl – Indianapolis News | Indiana Weather | Indiana Traffic

PASADENA, Calif. (WISH) — It’s been an incredible season so far for IU football, as the Hoosiers are set to play against Alabama in the Rose Bowl. It’s the first time IU will play in the Rose Bowl since 1968.

The 13-0 Hoosiers have had contributions from plenty of players this season. One player that has been towards the top of the list offensively in the second half of the season is wide receiver Charlie Becker.

Becker had just 70 yards in the first seven games of the season, but has racked up 445 yards and a touchdown in the last six games.

His family made the trip out to Pasadena, and could not be prouder.

“I’m extremely excited about the opportunity for Charlie,” Dave Becker, Charlie’s father, said. “He’s really come out of his own recently in the last few games and to play at the Rose Bowl, the most prestigious things as a Big Ten opportunity, so couldn’t be prouder for him.”

“It’s been an amazing, crazy, wild ride, but I could not be more excited,” Tracy Becker, Charlie’s mother, said. “A little nervous, I get nervous before every game, but I can’t wait.”

“We got to play two years together in high school, so I’ve been able to see him grow up and keep growing in his skill and everything like that,” Cole Becker, Charlie’s brother, said. “And then obviously on the biggest stage in college football getting to do it again. So I’m really proud of him.”

“I’m really excited for him,” Gracyn Becker, Charlie’s sister, said. “I think this is an amazing opportunity for him. Also, I just have loved how his character has shown through more than all of his athletic abilities. I’m also really excited for the warm weather, so I’m excited to be here.”
