HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) – Turtle Creek Mall is now reopened after a lockdown on Friday afternoon.
Sources close to WDAM 7 informed us that all doors were locked down while authorities investigated the incident.
City of Hattiesburg’s public information officer, John Arender, confirmed that there is no evidence of a shooting at this time. No shell casings were found, and there were no victims.
For clarification, HPD confirmed that there is not an active shooter at the scene.
WDAM 7’s Raven Little reported a heavy police presence at the scene.
The cause of the lockdown is still under investigation.
