A new MMA film is on the way, with Russell Crowe starring alongside Daniel MacPherson and Luke Hemsworth.
‘The Smashing Machine’, released last year and featuring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the role of Mark Kerr, quickly became a hit with MMA fans across the globe.
The biographical sports drama even led to The Rock earning his first-ever Golden Globe nomination.
Now, there’s another one coming soon. It was announced this Thursday that the next one will be released on April 10.

Russell Crowe is set to play an MMA coach named Sammy in the sports drama directed by Tyler Atkins.
Crowe’s character will mentor Patton James, a former champion played by Daniel MacPherson, who is drawn back into fighting after his brother finds himself in serious trouble.
“This is a true underdog story that’s full of heart and purpose,” MacPherson told PEOPLE.
“It’s both a family story of redemption and sacrifice as well as a high-level action film. It’s one for both MMA fans and film lovers alike.”
The film was made with input from ONE Championship, including scenes shot during their ONE 170 event in Bangkok back in January 2023.
The trailer was released this Thursday afternoon. Narrated by Crowe, it follows MacPherson’s path back into the sport.
Lionsgate will release Beast on April 10, so fans won’t have to wait long to see it on screens.
“Russell Crowe is a master, and I’m fortunate that this was our third film together. He elevates every project he works on and Beast was no different… Having this level of talent and experience around me was so incredible during one of the most gruelling physical and emotional shoots of my career.”
