CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A couple rounds of system snow are expected through tomorrow with lake effect continuing through Friday morning.
Lake-effect snow bands are lingering this Tuesday evening, producing heavy amounts in spots.
A widespread system snow develops tonight and lingers through Wednesday morning as low temperatures drop to around 20 degrees.
Lake-effect snow then resumes for a brief period around midday Wednesday before the next system snow moves in Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Bands and squalls of snow are possible which will greatly impact New Year’s Eve travel and lead to reduced visibility.
Temperatures hover in the 20s during this time frame.
Lake-effect snow picks up again late Wednesday night into New Year’s Day.
Snow will diminish a bit for Thursday, but may continue in some spots in our snow belt, where it may not end until Friday morning, so locations in the primary snow belt will likely have over a foot of snow on the ground by this time period.
Quieter weather settles in Friday afternoon into the weekend.
Temperatures stay below freezing then finally rise above the freezing mark on Monday and Tuesday.
