LeBron James has been accused of “disrespecting” the U.S. national anthem over the weekend.
The four-time NBA champion is playing in what could be his final season. The NBA star, who will turn 41 years old on Tuesday, is trending for his behavior during the U.S. national anthem prior to tipoff before a game. ESPN showed footage of LeBron James “working on his golf swing” during the national anthem.

While ESPN highlighted the clip, others are accusing LeBron James of being “disrespectful” during the national anthem.
Fans are accusing LeBron of being “disrespectful.”
“And per usual disrespecting our national anthem,” one fan wrote.
“Jordan was a better basketball player, is a better golfer, and a better American than LeBron could ever imagine himself to be,” one fan added.
“ESPN didn’t think to post this was disrespectful tells you all you need to know. LeBron would never do this for the China national anthem,” one fan added.

LeBron has been getting really into golf
LeBron James has made it clear that golf is his new “passion.”
“The bug is real,” said LeBron in an interview with Spectrum Sportsnet Live. “I didn’t know nothing about it. People said if you ever get into the game and the bug grabs you, it’s over with. I definitely have it, man.”

“I think the best thing I’ve gotten from it, besides like how competitive and hard it is, the mental challenge, which I love anything that’s mentally challenging, but you just get away from the world,” he added. “You’re out there on the green, no phones. I can lose my mind into the game of golf.”
