Kris Dunn makes strong case for All-Defense

Another key factor in the Los Angeles Clippers’ improvement has been the play of veteran guard Kris Dunn.

Although the 31-year-old has never been known for putting up big scoring numbers, teammates and coaches believe he has developed into an elite defender during his time in Los Angeles.

Head coach Ty Lue said Dunn’s defensive impact stands out in multiple areas of the game, not just in one-on-one situations.

“It’s a no-brainer that he’s definitely a first-team All-Defensive guy,” Lue said, according to Mark Medina of Sportsnaut.

“He’s a lockdown defender. Usually in the case when you have great defenders like that, they are good on-ball defenders. But they’re not really good off the ball or they’re not really good in team defense. But he’s all of it.”

In a wide-ranging conversation with Medina, Dunn also talked about wanting to earn league-wide defensive recognition, as well as his competitive exchanges with Luka Doncic and other topics.

Dunn has played 10 seasons for 6 teams, including the Bulls and Clippers. He has averaged 7.7 points, 3.9 assists, and 3.3 rebounds in 472 regular-season games.
