Judge approves extended probation for Patrick Mahomes Sr.

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) – Patrick Mahomes Sr. will remain on probation for an additional two years.

Mahomes appeared in court Monday after he was accused of violating his probation terms.

Mahomes is the father of the Kansas City Chiefs’ star quarterback Patrick Mahomes II and a former professional baseball player.

He pleaded guilty to DWI in 2024 with a five-year probation sentence. He was re-arrested in February 2026 after it was alleged he drank alcohol, violating his probation, according to District Attorney Jacob Putman.

Mahomes appeared in Judge Kerry Russell’s court Monday where it was determined a hair follicle tested for intoxication came back clean.

Mahomes did not admit to drinking.

Russell approved the state’s motion to modify and extend his probation, delegating a 16-week out-patient treatment and extending supervision to seven years.

He was also sentenced to 30 days in jail, with credit for time served, making his release the same day.
