Jaguars’ coordinator earns head coaching interview with Browns

The Cleveland Browns have reportedly requested to interview Jacksonville Jaguars’ offensive coordinator Grant Udinski for the team’s head coaching opening, according to Tom Pelissero.

Following the conclusion of the 2025 regular season, the Browns moved on from Kevin Stefanski.

Still only 30 years old, Udinski completed his first season as offensive coordinator with the Jacksonville Jaguars this past season.

Before that, he spent a few years in the Minnesota Vikings‘ organization, and in his final season with the team, he was the assistant offensive coordinator and the assistant quarterbacks coach.

It’s not surprising that Udinski has earned this interview. There have been several reports throughout this past season that suggested this would be the case.

Udinski plays a key role in the Jaguars‘ offense that was one of the hottest in football over the second half of the season, averaging nearly 33 points per game during the team’s winning streak.

Under Liam Coen and Udinski, this is an offensive scheme built on multiplicity and is rooted in the Sean McVay system.

“I’ve never really met anyone like him,” Trevor Lawrence said of Udinski. “The way he approaches the preparation process, the attention to detail, just the game planning in general… There’s no stones that are left unturned in his approach.”

The addition of Udinski to the coaching staff was an important hire for Coen.

Realistically, for Udinski, the next step in his coaching progression is to be a play-calling offensive coordinator. Coen calls the plays for the Jaguars. But we will see what happens.
