Hype FC: Arman Tsarukyan vs. Shara Bullet live blog

This is the Hype FC live blog for Arman Tsarukyan vs. Shara Bullet, the middleweight grappling bout taking place Tuesday at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan, Armenia.

Tsarukyan is currently a top lightweight contender in the UFC, with a 10-2 record in the promotion and a five-fight win streak that includes victories over Dan Hooker, Charles Oliveira, and Beneil Dariush. The Armenian standout looks to earn a title shot in 2026 after an injury forced him out of a matchup with then-champion Islam Makhachev at UFC 311 this past January.

In the meantime, Tsarukyan has been staying busy with grappling competitions, defeating Mehdi Baydulaev, Benson Henderson, Patricky Pitbull, and Makkasharip Zaynukov on the mats in 2025.

Shara Bullet—a.k.a. Shara Magomedov—has made a name for himself in the UFC’s middleweight division. In his most recent outing, Magomedov scored a decision win over Marc-Andre Barriault to rebound from a disappointing loss to Michael “Venom” Page. He and Tsarukyan compete in Hype FC for the first time.

Tsarukyan vs. Shara Bullet. Why not? Neither guy has any immediate plans, so may as well make a nice paycheck and have some fun to close out 2025.

Shara Bullet out first, then Arman Tsarukyan to a big cheer.

No surprise, Magomedov with a big size advantage. But it’s Tsarukyan who is the aggressor as he pushes Magomedov to the ropes. Magomedov with a big counter as he almost gets Tsarukyan down. Tsarukyan still on his feet with Magomedov leaning on his back.

Tsarukyan looks to fight the hands as Magomedov works to get a hook in. Now it’s Tsarukyan with the reversal and he pressures Magomedov on the ropes. Tsarukyan trying to control Magomedov’s arm. He’s angling to get low, but Magomedov doing a good job denying him and fighting for underhooks. Tsarukyan going for a high clinch before changing levels, Magomedov’s balance being tested as he fights on one leg. Magomedov keeping Tsarukyan’s hands in check.

Tsarukyan driving in, making himself as heavy as possible, but the size favors Magomedov. Just as I write that, Tsarukyan explodes and drags Magomedov’s legs to the mat for the first takedown of the match. Magomedov defends well and the referee has to separate the fighters after they get tangled up in the ropes.

A minute left in the round and Tsarukyan manages to pick Magomedov up for a big slam. Wow! After a brief ground struggle, Magomedov gets back on the feet, Tsarukyan continuing to pressure. Arman goes for another trip as the round comes to an end.

Looks like it was just a one-round fight and the official result is a draw? My assumption is that this is a finish-only, no judges fight, because if a decision was to be rendered it would clearly be in Tsarukyan’s favor.
