The Miami Dolphins had several players hitting free agency on Wednesday when the new league year officially opened, but they decided to re-sign two of their own right as they were going on the market.
Miami announced Wednesday evening that they’ve brought back defensive tackle Matthew Butler and cornerback A.J. Green III.

He’s appeared in 39 games, starting two, and recorded 41 tackles, seven passes defensed, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
Butler, 26, entered the league as a fifth-round pick (No. 175 overall) of the Las Vegas Raiders in the 2022 NFL draft out of Tennessee. He signed with Miami last year after three with the Raiders.
In his four seasons, he’s appeared in 27 games and started two, while recording 27 tackles and a half-sack.
