The new brain trust in charge of the Miami Dolphins, general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley, have already made quite a bit of changes this offseason, and that’s not stopping now.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Dolphins are expected to release kicker Jason Sanders.

Sanders, 30, played collegiately at New Mexico from 2014-17 before Miami took him in the seventh round (No. 229 overall) of the 2018 NFL draft.
Over the first seven years of his career, Sanders made 84.6% of field goals (187-for-221) and 96.6% of his extra points (259-for-268). He was also named an All-Pro in 2020.
Sanders missed all of the 2025 season due to an injury, and the Dolphins replaced him with Riley Patterson, who is also slated to hit the market when the new league year starts.
By releasing Sanders, Miami saves $3.92 million in cap space while incurring $663,000 million in a dead cap hit.
