National political advisors were urged to continuously contribute their wisdom and efforts to advancing Chinese modernization and ensuring a strong start to the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) as China’s top political advisory body held the closing meeting of its annual session on Wednesday morning.
Xi Jinping and other Party and state leaders attended the meeting of the fourth session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
A resolution on the work report of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, a resolution on the report on how the proposals from political advisors have been handled since the previous annual session, a report on the examination of new proposals and a political resolution of the fourth session of the 14th CPPCC National Committee were approved at the meeting.
Wang Huning, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, delivered a speech at the meeting.

Noting all CPPCC members conducted earnest deliberations on the reports including the Government Work Report, the draft outline of the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) and other reports during the session, Wang said all CPPCC members fully recognized the extraordinary course of development over the past year and during the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) period, as well as the hard-won and precious achievements that have been made.
Wang stated that all CPPCC members are determined to make greater contributions to advancing Chinese modernization and to continuously writing new chapters in promoting rapid economic growth and ensuring long-term social stability.
The session demonstrated the sense of responsibility of CPPCC members in performing their duties for the country and fulfilling their responsibilities to the people, and fully showcased the unique strengths and vitality of socialist consultative democracy, said Wang.
Ensuring a strong start to 15th FYP implementation
Wang stated that the CPPCC should fully play its role as a specialized consultative body, uniting and guiding the political parties, organizations, and people from all ethnic groups and sectors participating in the CPPCC, to pool public support, build consensus, and gather wisdom and strength to ensure a strong start and steady progress in implementing the 15th Five-Year Plan.
Calling on CPPCC members to concentrate their wisdom and strength on the central tasks advanced by the Party and the country, Wang emphasized that all CPPCC members should focus on major economic and social development issues, deepen forward-looking research and strategic thinking, and put forward valuable and substantial opinions and suggestions.
Wang added that all CPPCC members should uphold the principle that the CPPCC serves the people, offer more proposals that benefit the public, carry out more initiatives that improve people’s well-being and ensure that the achievements of Chinese modernization benefit all the people.
As the most inclusive patriotic united front organization, Wang said the CPPCC should carry on its role of strengthening the great unity of the Chinese people of all ethnic groups and the great unity of all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation at home and abroad.
Looking ahead, Wang called on CPPCC members to unite more closely around the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Xi at its core, work with one heart and one mind, forge ahead with determination, and strive tirelessly to comprehensively advance the building of a great modern socialist country.
