Courteney Cox Made Blizzard Dressing Chic in the ‘90s-Coded Jeans That Somehow *Still* Look Good in 2026

Like everyone else, I’m watching Love Story and obsessing over the fashion. And even though I’m not a minimalist, I’ve very much been feeling the ‘90s simplicity, suddenly wanting nothing more than a closet of sleek slip dresses, polished blazers, and straight-leg jeans. Fortunately, Courteney Cox proved that the latter is still in for 2026.

While in New York City this week, Cox showed how to do blizzard-dressing the right way. She wore a big parka (essential) over her winter wardrobe staples: a simple sweater and vintage-inspired straight jeans. Obviously, the puffer was the most important part of this look, but it’s her denim I’ll be thinking about even after the snow melts.

For years, jeans have been leaning less traditional, with giant wide legs and horse-shoe shaped pants taking over the denim world. And I’ve been all about it. The bigger the jeans, the happier I am. But there’s one tricky part about styling pants that voluminous: Whether you want them to be or not, they’re the star of the show. It’s a dilemma that makes a pretty good case for having a straight-leg style in the mix, too.

The simple, no-fuss jeans are an easy style to fall back on. The silhouette looks good with just about everything and is surprisingly sleek, making even something as low-key as a white T-shirt and flats feel polished. And unlike a pair of oversized jeans, these are a true basic—they’re not going to distract from a great top, and years down the road, you won’t look back on them and think, “Why did I wear those?” There’s a reason that decade after decade, they’ve never hit the chopping block.

Cox’s light blue jeans, which featured subtle fading at the knee, could have been pulled straight from Monica Geller’s closet. But because the sleek, straight-leg style is so timeless, they still felt modern. Between this look and an Instagram feed filled with Carolyn Bessette Kennedy street style pictures, I’ve been influenced to add the classic style to my wardrobe. Below, shop a few more of the straight-leg jeans I’m eyeing.
