The CBS Arena’s PA system is on 11 at the moment as the last of the stragglers make their way to their seats.

I say stragglers… with this being an 18:00 kick-off, and me coaching my son’s under-7s team in a Christmas football tournament this morning, I assumed today was a bank holiday.

Apparently it is not, so fair play to everyone here who has managed a day of graft before making this peculiar start time.

Coventry have slowed of late. It was Ipswich who beat them 3-0 just three weeks ago. Since then they’ve drawn two and won two but remain top of the tree.

Haji Wright leads the line but has gone 10 games without a goal since his last one at the start of October.

Ipswich have found a bit of form that’s seen them steadily make their way to third but they have not won on the road in four and need Ivan Azon to add to the two goals he has managed up front this season.
