After 10 years of Buffalo football, Cam Lewis is leaving the city.
The Chicago Bears are signing the former Bills defensive back to a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Lewis played four years at the University at Buffalo before spending six seasons with the Bills after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2019.
He made 14 starts in 76 regular-season games with the Bills and finished his Buffalo tenure with 166 tackles, 11 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and one interception. In 2024, he started a career-high six games and recorded a career-best 68 tackles and his first career interception.
Lewis, who turns 29 on April 13, developed into one of Buffalo’s most versatile depth defenders. He played all 17 games in each of the last three seasons and lined up at cornerback, nickel and safety while also contributing as a core special teamer.
In 2025, Lewis allowed 24 completions on 41 targets (58.5 completion percentage) in pass coverage.
In Chicago, Lewis projects as an experienced and versatile secondary piece after the Bears lost cornerback Nahshon Wright to the Jets in free agency.
