Britney Spears arrested for DUI

Britney Spears was arrested for driving under the influence Wednesday, Page Six can confirm.

The “Oops! … I Did It Again” singer, 42, was handcuffed by the California Highway Patrol in Ventura County, Calif., at around 9:28 p.m. local time.

She was booked at 3:02 a.m. and ultimately released at 6:07 a.m. Thursday morning, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s inmate record.

TMZ was the first to report the news.

She is set to show up in court on May 4.

Following her arrest, Spears took down her Instagram profile.

Page Six has reached out to reps for comment, but did not hear back at the time of publication.

Her arrest comes a few months after she was seen driving erratically following a night out with friends.

In October 2025, the DailyMail obtained a video that showed the “Toxic” songstress leaving Thousand Oaks restaurant Red-O and getting into the driver’s seat of her black BMW after several people allegedly attempted to stop her.

One eyewitness claimed to the outlet that she “nearly ran over her friend while pulling out” of the parking lot.

After that, she was seen swerving between lanes, tailgating a car and even driving into a bike line while on her way to her Thousand Oaks estate.

Shortly after the video surfaced, Spears took to social media to claim that it was not her driving the car, but a “lookalike.”

The manager of the restaurant where Spears had been dining also defended the singer, shutting down any rumors that she had been driving erratically because she was drinking.

“She was super chill and really nice,” Oliver Wynn told Us Weekly at the time. “She just kind of hung out, grabbed a bite to eat and left.”

He also said she was “not intoxicated” and didn’t order any alcohol with her quesadilla, though a fan did buy her a glass of wine.

By November, the “Woman In Me” author was seen leaving another restaurant with a Champagne flute in hand — though she did not get behind the wheel.
