Avon police say they found a person with a gunshot wound in an apartment around 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 10.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Avon police said Tuesday evening their preliminary investigation suggests the shooting may have been self-inflicted.
Avon police officers are investigating after a person was found with a gunshot wound inside an apartment Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to the 1900 block of Tartan Lane, near East County Road 200 North and South County Road 800 East, around 3 p.m. March 10 on a report of a person down.
Police say they found a person inside an apartment suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medics transported the individual to Eskenazi Hospital. Police did not provide the person’s condition.
Investigators say there is no active threat to the public.
Police have not shared information on what led up to the shooting.
