Ghazi Ghori and Saad Masood are the latest debutants as Pakistan aim to reset their ODI side with young talent ahead of the World Cup next year.
Pakistan won the toss and opted to bowl first in the third and final ODI of the series against Bangladesh taking place on Sunday, March 15 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The series is tied at 1-1 after Pakistan bounced back from their defeat in the series opener to win the second ODI.

Pakistan handed debut to two new faces. Wicket-keeper batter Ghazi Ghori and all-rounder Saad Masood made their way into international cricket with the clash in Dhaka. Let us take a look at the brief profiles of the two youngsters as they set foot in the international arena.
Who is Ghazi Ghori?
A right-handed wicket-keeper batter, Ghazi Ghori is about to turn 23. He made his professional debut in 2023 and has been on the radar of Pakistani selectors for some time now. He was a reserve player in Pakistan’s U-19 World Cup team in 2022.
He has played 26 First-Class matches and averages 41 with three tons and 10 half-centuries. His List A record is not that praiseworthy where, in 11 innings, he only averages 20.6 at a strike rate of less than 80. His T20 numbers are also poor.
He played two matches for Islamabad United at last year’s Pakistan Super League but could not get much time to bat. He was part of the 2025 Rising Stars Asia Cup-winning side of Pakistan Shaheens.
Who is Saad Masood?
A leg spinner with an ability to hit sixes is a rare combination and Pakistan are looking for this exact skill in Saad Masood. He is yet to play a First-Class game and has only featured in three List A games but the rarity of his skills has pushed Masood up in the pecking order.
Just 21, Masood has strong batting numbers in T20 cricket even though he is yet to get a consistent run in the Pakistan Super League. In all T20s, he has 22 wickets in 24 matches and his batting strike rate is almost 141 at an average of 26.75.
Masood played a key role in Pakistan Shaheen’s Rising Stars Asia Cup victory late last year with both bat and ball and thus has been rewarded.
