The Chicago Bears said goodbye to many of their free agent defensive backs this week, but not all of them. The Bears are re-signing cornerback Jaylon Jones to a one-year deal, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Jones joined the Bears as an undrafted free agent in 2022, earning a roster spot as a special teams player and backup cornerback. In his rookie season, Jones started four games and became a staple on special teams. Jones remained with the Bears through the 2024 season and joined the Arizona Cardinals prior to the 2025 season.

During final roster cuts, however, Jones was released from the team and was claimed off waivers by the Bears. He appeared in 15 games last season, totaling 16 tackles and one forced fumble. He had one start, coming in Week 8 against the Baltimore Ravens.
