The odd free agent saga of Trey Hendrickson will now feel forever intertwined with the Ravens backing out of their trade with the Raiders for Maxx Crosby.

Once that happened, Baltimore had the ability to sign Hendrickson. And that impacted teams across the NFL, including the NFL East rival Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles.
That’s because they both wanted Hendrickson, too.
“The Colts, Bills, Bucs, Commanders and Eagles all were involved in Trey Hendrickson’s free agency before the All-Pro agreed to terms with the Ravens, per sources,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler wrote on X on Wednesday morning.

Hendrickson’s deal has been reported as being four years for $112 million.

Fowler added: “The Eagles got involved late.”
Both teams have had other movement on the pass rush front this offseason.
The Commanders have actually made multiple additions. They signed Odafe Oweh to a four-year, $100 million contract, and they’ve got K’Lavon Chaisson coming aboard from the Patriots on a one-year deal.
The Eagles likely were seeking a replacement for Jaelan Phillips, who signed a four-year, $120 million contract with the Carolina Panthers.
In the end, Hendrickson stays in the AFC North, going from the Bengals to the Ravens.
Crosby is back with the Raiders for now, and maybe he’s a potential trade target for another team.

It’s all been a bit odd, and in the end, neither the Commanders nor Eagles end up with Hendrickson despite their pursuits.
