Who is Ahead in Texas’s 18th Congressional District?

As a result of redistricting, the Democratic primary in this district features a matchup of two sitting members of Congress. Much of the 9th Congressional District, which is currently represented by Al Green, a 20-year House veteran, was folded into the 18th. Green, whose home is now in the 18th, is running to represent his new district against Christian Menefee, a progressive Democrat who recently won a special election runoff to fill the seat left vacant by Representative Sylvester Turner’s death. The 18th district was already a reliably blue seat, so the winner of this primary is expected to win the general election as well. If no candidate clears 50 percent in the primary, the top two finishers will advance to a runoff.
