Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is not in the squad to face Leeds on Saturday, Feb. 28 due to an injury picked up in training, manager Pep Guardiola told reporters before the match.
“Two days ago in training he had some problems and a little injury. Not a big issue but [he’s] not ready for today,” Guardiola said of Haaland’s absence. “We are without one top striker and we are playing with another top striker.”
With Haaland out, Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki and Omar Marmoush lead the line for second-place City at Elland Road.
Manchester City enters Saturday’s showdown trailing leader Arsenal by five points with a game in hand. Haaland leads the Premier League with 22 goals this season and has 107 goals in 124 league appearances since joining the club in 2022.
