Appomattox mother and daughter invited to attend Tuesday’s State of the Union address

Two special guests from our area are set to attend Tuesday’s State of the Union speech in Washington, D.C.

Appomattox locals, Michele and Sage Blair, were invited to the address as guests.

In 2023, Michele filed a lawsuit against multiple Appomattox County Schools officials for concealing information about Sage’s gender identity and bullying, saying it ultimately contributed to Sage’s decision to run away.

Michele said that after Sage ran away, she was kidnapped, raped and sex-trafficked across state lines.
