FIRST ALERT- Snowflakes possible for parts of the Las Vegas Valley early Wednesday morning

Wednesday: ⚠️ First Alert Weather Day – Highest Impacts Early Morning

High: 54° | Conditions: Rain and Gusty Winds

The band of precipitation continues to push eastward through early Wednesday morning, bringing another round of rain and mountain snow. The wettest time around the Las Vegas Valley will be between Midnight and 6 a.m. Conditions will improve through the day on Wednesday.

Snow levels remain low at 3,500 to 4,000 feet, continuing heavy snow across mountain areas. In the Las Vegas Valley, there is a chance for snow flurries early Wednesday morning before conditions improve.

Wind gusts will remain strong at 45 to 55 mph through early Wednesday morning, creating hazardous conditions on roadways. Slick, wet roads, ponding of water, and water flowing in normally dry washes are all possible. Localized minor flooding cannot be ruled out in low-lying areas.

Mountain Snow Alert: Heavy snow continues with fresh accumulations on mountain pass roads. Travel impacts expected along I-15 Mountain Pass, I-40 Fort Rock, Highway 266 through Lida Summit, Highway 93 north of Pioche, and Red Rock Scenic Loop.

What to expect: Conditions improve through the afternoon. Continue monitoring road conditions and stay with us for updates.

Thursday: ⚠️ First Alert Weather Day – Final System Arrives

High: 53° | Conditions: Scattered Showers and Wind

A final system pushes through the southern Great Basin on Thursday, bringing one last round of precipitation before drier conditions return. Snow levels remain low at 3,000 to 4,000 feet, so lower elevation snowfall is expected on mountain pass roads once again. We may see some rain/snow mix showers again for the higher elevations of the Las Vegas Valley.

Wind speeds will be lighter than previous days with southwest gusts between 35 and 45 mph.

What to expect: Scattered showers, continued wind, and below-normal temperatures. Travel impacts expected along mountain routes. Stay tuned for updates.

Friday Through the Weekend: Warming and Drier Pattern Returns

Friday High: 55° | Saturday High: 57° | Sunday High: 63°

Conditions: Partly Cloudy to Mostly Clear

Drier and warmer conditions return to Southern Nevada as the active weather pattern moves east. Temperatures gradually warm through the weekend with highs reaching the low-to-mid 60s by Sunday. Winds will subside as systems clear out of the region.

What to expect: Much better conditions for outdoor plans and travel.
