Golden State Warriors superstar guard Stephen Curry will not play in Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game due to a knee injury, but he still paid homage to fellow All-Star and former Team USA teammate Anthony Edwards as part of the All-Star festivities.
In a video posted by footwear insider Nick DePaula on X, Curry was seen slipping on Edwards’ Adidas “Gold Medal” AE 1 Low PE sneakers in the locker room at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, before the Slam Dunk Contest, 3-Point Contest and other All-Star events on Saturday:
The kicks are a nod to Edwards being part of the United States men’s basketball team at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The Minnesota Timberwolves star, along with Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and a host of others helped the U.S. secure its fifth consecutive Olympic gold in men’s basketball with dramatic wins over Serbia and France in the semifinals and finals, respectively.
