A 21-year-old man was killed in a crash on westbound Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.

SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — A 21-year-old man was killed in a crash on westbound Interstate 90 near Snoqualmie Pass on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Washington State Patrol.

WSP identified the man as Brayden Duncan, of Auburn. He was driving a 2004 Honda Civic when the car slid, hit the barrier and re-entered lane one of the highway. A semi-truck then struck the Honda Civic.

Duncan was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, WSP reported. The second driver, a 32-year-old man from Spokane, was not injured.

WSP said the cause of the crash was driving too fast for the conditions.

The fatal crash caused extended delays on westbound I-90 in the Keechelus Lake area, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

All lanes reopened just before 7 p.m., but drivers should expect backups and consider using alternate routes.

A Winter Storm Warning was in effect for the Cascades, with Snoqualmie Pass reporting 13 inches of fresh snow on Wednesday.
